Your use of the word 'poor' stops you from developing a solution to the problem. The word you should be using is 'workers' or even better 'wealth producers'. This would help get to a solution.

The solution is actually very simple: workers should own their labor, and the fruits of their labor. If they develop ideas they should own the intellectual property. If they are artists or musicians they should own the royalties from their art.

The solution is not to live like the Amish, but rather to own the means of production. Start a small business. Own what you produce. Don't trade time for money. Trade what you produce for money.

And for the love of God, start taking showers and owning more than one pair of pants! Acting poor doesn't do anyone any good.
