'Woke' is a term used by folks who don't understand critical theory, postmodernism, and Marxism to give a name for these overlapping theories.

But more importantly, there are a whole group of people who follow 'woke' ideologies without understanding where where these theories come from. Woke is an identity for these people.

( I saw several people yesterday with green hair and I immediately could tell they are woke.)

Woke, like postmodernism, is a part of late stage capitalism. It is a critique of early stage capitalism, and ironically seeks to subvert capitalism while being fully enmeshed in it.
