What Marx and Varoufakis get wrong is the system is not based on "Capitalism". It is based on mass "Production". Capitalism is just a by-product of mass production. The end point isn't "techno-feudalism" or socialism. The end point is mass production taking over the state: producers holding all the levers of power. This will end in corporatocracy where producers control everything. This is also called inverted totalitarianism or state capitalism.
