What is being left out of the reporting, and anyone who has visited the sequoias know, is that the base of these trees have burned numerous times. Many of these trees, the lower bark is black and burned. These trees have survived thousands of years, and perhaps hundreds of fires. The sequoias will be fine. It is the other trees in the forrest that are not so fortunate.
