We have moved from an age of Modernity and talking about science, technology and universal laws, to an age of Postmodernity and talking about social constructs, politics, and equity. It is a transition from thinking about the world as objective knowledge to social knowledge (in the Kantian sense). Everything exists today within a social construct; gender, race, class, etc… . This stuff is in the mainstream media everyday. It is not theoretical. Even things that are purely objective and scientific such as the pandemic and climate change have been socially constructed to fit into Postmodern narratives. I would suggest teaching university students the difference between objective and social knowledge (ontology and epistemology), as they will be subjected to social construction everyday in the media.

Good discussion. Thanks!
