Very interesting! In studying United Nations agenda of ‘Sustainable Development’ I’ve found it comes directly from the ‘neo-Marxist’ concept of ‘Uneven Development’. This in turn comes from post colonial theory. So I think the United Nations is operating on theories of post colonialism as they try to lift the developing world out of poverty and hunger.

The big question that arises from this interaction is should Western nations impose Western values and technology on these non-Western countries?
For example, Bill Gates is pushing industrial agriculture for non-Western countries to fix the problem of world hunger. Meanwhile there are indigenous groups resisting this, and promoting local farms and farming techniques.
So much of the ‘climate change’ issues are actually ‘sustainable development’ issues, and these in turn are based on post colonial issues. So there is a very practical application of post colonial theory.
