Two thoughts here. First Postmodernism definitely equates popularity with ‘goodness’. Not ‘truth’, but goodness. Postmodernism is trying to create a new value system based on social value. Otherwise why would media spend so much time doing surveys? People’s opinions matter in Postmodernism. YouTube’s entire analytic system runs on popularity; likes, subscribers, watch time, etc… . Welcome to the new Postmodern economy where consumers of information decide how valuable it is.
Second thought. Don’t give up on YouTube. Although there are many, many problems with this platform, it is still the best for SEO. Your writing is amazing, but your videos need work. Keep working on them. In order for success do what you are good at, but also try to improve what you are bad at. I sucked at YouTube videos, but am incrementally getting better. It’s not rocket science, you just need to work at it.
