There are some factual errors with the article, but let us lay them aside and look at the broader argument. The intellectual argument comes from ‘Cultural Marxism’, a form of Postmodernism. The Marxist argument is that man exploits Nature turning it into a ‘natural resource’ for man’s use to create capital. All nature is subjugated in this way. The Cultural Marxist argument is that the white man saw Africans and Native Americans as primitive people and closer to Nature. Since they are closer to Nature they could be exploited as a ‘natural resource’. The solution is inherent in the problem statement; stop exploiting nature, be it ‘natural resources’ or ‘primitive’ peoples. The racist part of the argument is that some people are more primitive than others. This is the link between ‘climate justice’ and ‘social justice’.
