There are real problems, and there are socially constructed narratives. It is important to distinguish between the two. The media is focused on 'catastrophy porn' and constantly bombarding us with new and ever worse horrors. I think this is part of the human condition. When we see injustice, we fantisize about the punishiment of the wicked. We invent catastrophys that will punish humanity for their sins. But there is also the real side of climate change, and focusing on catastrophy porn will not help understand the problem or propose real solutions. The 'sense-making' around climate change is broken, and we are left with no agency to make good decisions both individually and collectively.
