There are only three ways this war will end:
1. Ukraine wins the war
2. Russia wins the war
3. There is a negotiated settlement

Chomsky is advocating for a negotiated settlement. This is the most logical and probable outcome. Unfortunately, the U.S. is pushing for a Ukraine win. This may end badly, or not. The U.S. certainly thinks this best solution and is willing to risk nuclear war for it.
