The United States doesn't have a homelessness problem, it has a drug addiction and mental health problem. It needs to be treated not by more 'homes' (single family apartments) but rather through drug treatment, social programs, and group homes.

The government needs to stop all the foolish 'homeless' programs and instead invest in small group homes (4-6 people), with healthcare staff and access to mental healthcare. That is the simple, straightforward solution, but because we have privatized healthcare it is not done.
