The U.N.'s goals are for rich countries to transfer wealth and knowledge (intellectual property) to poor countries. This is the solution to fix uneven development.
What appears to be the problem of 'climate change' is actually the problem of 'sustainable development' and 'uneven development'. These are socio-economic problems, not environmental ones. If you look at the sustainable development goals they are ending poverty and world hunger. Climate action is actually goal number 13.
So climate action is just one of many concerns of the U.N., and if looked at pessimistically, it is justification for its other socio-economic goals. If looked at optimistically, the solution to climate change is sustainable development. Something that seems to get lost in all the apocalyptic talk.
