The idea of 'race' has been socially constructed, and changes over time. There is no 'science' behind race. In the early 20th century it was thought that there were various European 'races', some more developed, some less. Aryans were considered to be a race or tribe originating in Iran and migrating to Europe. The Nazis considered them to be the 'master race'.

Currently, Postmodern identity politics are redefining 'race' as 'white' vs 'people of color'. This new definition Whoopi was using, not the older one. This looks at race through the lens of colonialism and Western civilization vs non-Western ones.

The problem with Postmodernism is it tries to 'deconstruct' history, and redefine it using current concepts and political agendas. In this context, Jews are seen as having 'white privilege' even though this goes against 3000 years of history.
