The difficulty comes not with actual temperature data, but combining human emissions data into a complex model of anthropogenic causes. Here the models are wildly inaccurate based more on assumptions of the model maker and not actual 'science'. Looking at temperate data only doesn't give a complete picture of the problem.
At this point we must assume climate change is 'baked in' and we need to develop strategies to adapt to it. The dialog should move beyond is climate change real or not, and instead be about what real actions we need to take to adapt to it.
