The Constitution is the one thing holding the United States together as a nation-state in these troubled times. If it is eliminated, the United States would not exist in its current form. In coming years we will see the United States fall apart as a democratic nation-state and become something else entirely. Currently, we don't have a democracy, but at least democratic institutions and processes. The Constitution has limited the progress to a non-democratic nation-state.
