Teaching students theory without having them understand context is destructive and unethical. CRT is based on ‘social construction’ of race which is based on various Postmodern theories such as critical theory, Poststructuralism, and Structuralism. Until these theories are known the to student, CRT is destructive to their intellectual development. Thus, CRT needs to be taught in the framework of other broader social theories. Teaching CRT in college after a Postmodern theory class is acceptable, but I think it is being taught too early, and to students who don’t have the knowledge to understand the concept.
