One thing you missed which is both a similarity and a distinction is the ownership property. In the Middle Ages it was real estate, now it is intellectual property owned by large corporations. The new plantation is working for a corporation. Facebook, Apple, Google etc own the platform and you ‘own nothing and are happy’ . This is the real cause for Neo-Feudalism, lack of ownership of property by the people.
