One of the biggest problems with environmentalism is taking scientific information and 'telling stories' around it to present scientific information to non-scientists. This creates a whole industry of pseudoscience around climate change and dumbs down the whole debate about what solutions are valid, and which are not.

The reason there stills is debate around climate change is because there is so much pseudoscience around it, and the Right can easily debunk it.

All of this stops us from proposing real solutions to climate change and instead jump on magic elixirs that make for good storytelling, but little else. If you want good storytelling there are a lot of post-apocalyptic movies you can see.
