Once you go down the rabbit hole of climate change propaganda you realize that 90% of what is in popular media is falacious. But it is the 10% of truth that is really troubling.

In terms of personal consumption and 'carbon footprints', there is very little a person can do to reduce their footprint. Production is in the hands of corporations, industrialists, and the government. The biggest thing Americans can do is reduce their transportation 'footprint'. Stop airplane travel as one flight across country creates more carbon emissions than driving a car for a year. Live closer to work, or work from home. Ride bikes, etc...

Carbon foot prints stop any discussion of systemic problems like global capitalism. Why is Australia shipping huge amounts of coal to China? Why is the U.S. still buying Saudi oil when we are 100% fossil fuel efficient? Carbon footprints are used to create a smokescreen so we don't ask the bigger questions.
