Not very practical. How are people going to retire with no wealth or assets? The Clinton Administration essentially eliminated the pension and replaced it with the 401K plan. This forced people to invest in the stock market, and give their retirement savings to corporations.

If pensions could be brought back, or living wage for social security, this could be a very real option. But not currently.
