Marxism is just as bad as Capitalism. They are flip sides of the same coin. The issue isn’t money or the distribution of capital in society, it is over-production of modern industrial and postindustrial society. We simply do not need to produce so much. We are learning this the hard way with the environment.
The answer is not Marxism (or Capitalism) but moving beyond a mass produced society. This also means stopping mass consumption.
Marxists, by focusing on economics, capital, and government miss the whole point of the 19th and 20th century: mass production not only produces ‘surplus-value’ but it over-produces, and over-consumes. The problem of the 21st century is, how do we produce and consume just enough.
Instead of focusing on money and capital, we need to focus on over-production and over-consumption.
