Its not neoliberalism that is causing us to be insane, as China has just as insane control over public opinion and they are an authoritarian state.

What is happening, as Deleuze points out, is that we are in a 'control' society, where our wants, needs, and desires, are being controlled by state capitalism. All news and social media is propaganda for this agenda. Our 'desire' is being controlled through advertising, entertainment, news, and now social media.

What is amazing is our capitalist society is just as controlling as China's communist one. So defining the problem as neoliberal consciousness is an incorrect assumption. The 'control' society operates both under capitalism and also communism.
