In this Postmodern age I believe ideas are used as a form of technology to implement certain agendas. The elimination of property rights have been used both on the far left and far right to implement their social agendas. On the left is socialism and the elimination of private property, and giving government the right to determine what are, and are not 'human rights'. On the right is the capitalist idea that you will 'own nothing and be happy', which sets up the future of capitalism as being neofeudalism. Again eliminating human rights. So when talking about philosophical ideas, one also needs to discuss their real world impacts.
