In San Francisco where I am from, the school board just spent the last year determining how to rename public schools. This included Abraham Lincoln High School and George Washington High School. Instead of focusing on how to bring students back into the class room from the pandemic, they focused on perceived historic injustice of the naming of public schools. Three board members were just recalled for this. Even the very liberal Democratic voters of San Francisco are getting tired of this.

Also last year there was a mural of George Washington that a San Francisco school tried to remove because it showed enslaved African Americans and Native Americans. This issue ended up in court.

It is unfortunate, but public schools have become the front lines for race history rewriting.

I think both the Democrats and Republicans are at fault. CRT is a distraction from the real race problem; segregation in public schools. Public schools are becoming more segregated as the the wealth gap increases. If Democrats wanted to solve the problem of racial inequality they would be focused on desegregating schools, not on CRT. Look at the schools in California, many are either 95% white, or 95% Hispanic. Rarely is there an even split.
