I think very few people in the U.S. are paying attention to the Olympics. I think viewership is down over 50% from previous years. Why? During Covid, there has been a crack down on U.S. national media to show only news from the U.S. so we don't see how other nations are approaching Covid lock downs and vaccine mandates. There has been a concerted effort to stop foreign news in the U.S. for the last two years.

As a result most folks don't know what is going on in Yemen or Afghanistan. You have to really look for this news to find it online. I think this is also why the Olympics are being ignored. I think the censure-ship in the U.S. is just as bad, or almost as bad as in China. Certainly there is just as much propaganda. We may have a free and open internet, but algorithms determine what we do or don't see.
