I think the media landscape has changed so much in the last few years that publicists are having a hard time. Two years ago I would recommend researching other authors in your niche and finding their representation. Now I think the answer for any small author is to find small podcasters on YouTube and go on their shows. Podcasts definitely dominated this election cycle. This would have been a great strategy for your books on Trump.
