I think social media is destroying art school. There is a strong community on Youtube that teaches art techniques and encourages followers not to attend art school. There are so many 'self-taught' artists on social media telling people not to go to art school.

On Instagram there are people posting art with no education. Instagram and now AI devalue art making it a quick scroll on an app. Giving away art for free on social media for subscribers further devalues art. Why buy a cow when you can get the milk from any cow on the planet for free?

Why go to art school when you can get thousands of hours of art education for free on Youtube? Higher education needs a better business model as it must compete with online classes.
