I think of Peterson’s centering of personal responsibility in the context of Buddhism. There are two main schools of Buddhism: Theravada and Mahayana. In Theravada one tries to personally be responsible and attain enlightenment. In Mahayana one tries to help the world become more enlightened, and by helping the world, one helps oneself too.
Theravada Buddhism is not wrong, but can appear selfish, helping only oneself. ( Going to the mountain top and meditating.) I subscribe to Mahayana path of helping others and the whole world.
Or in JP speak; I think it is not enough to clean one’s room. One must help the whole world.
