I remember taking the SAT test to get into college and the English part of the test kept using African American slang as the wrong answers. In order to do well on the test you needed to grow up in an environment where people spoke perfect English. I remember thinking how racist and elitist this was. I think many of these types of tests were written to exclude African Americans from higher education.
