I really wish people would read Marx, or at least have some understand of capitalism. This article assumes that exchange-value in the form supply and demand drive inequality. This is not true. We live in an age of incredible excess. What drives inequality is structuring society around ‘surplus-value’ or capital. We can build huge hundred story skyscrapers but we can’t build affordable housing for the homeless. If we took surplus-value, capital, and used it for people and not corporations we would live in a more equitable world.
‘Degrowth’ means moving from the inequalities of capitalism to a post capitalist society.
