I had been advised to look on Twitter to find an agent. In researching them it was clear they all needed writers to have a 'platform'. Not sure how many followers they think is enough to constitute a platform?

But in the last month I had a viral video on Youtube and got over 200,000 hours of watch time, and over 10,000 subscribers in about two weeks. It made me realize Youtube is perhaps the best platform to develop a following. Twitter is perhaps second best for writers. Medium is a complete waste of time. I'm convinced that it would be better to post writings on a personal blog than on Medium. There simply is no SEO.

My suggestion for you is to find a video editor and do voice overs of your writings using pictures or video. A lot of people want to see video essays on Youtube and there is very little content like this on the platform. Unless you are Jordan Peterson, being a college professor and just posting your lectures on Youtube or doing podcasts is not engaging enough.
