I find it interesting that women don't understand where women's rights originated, and what gives them political power. Women's rights don't originate with the State. They don't originate with any political system.

Women's rights are a direct result of capitalist science and technology giving them power to control their body and reproductive control.

Secondly, capitalism gives women power in the form of being a consumer. It gives them the power of the 'purse' to control society. Women make 80-90% of the purchasing decisions for households.

Thirdly, capitalism gives women power in the form of being a producer and working. Women get power from making money, and making decisions in the work place.

Women participating in democracy as government 'by the people' is important and should not be understated, but women's rights are not directly tied to State power or any specific form of government.
