I call this 'captured capitalism' because companies no longer need to 'sell' you a product, you are a captured consumer. The bigger issue is intellectual property. Just like serfs who owned no propery, we are turning into modern serfs who own no intellectual property. Apple, Google, Facebook, own the intellectual property of their platforms. Monsanto owns seed intellectual property. Pharma owns the intellectual property of drugs and vaccines. We are being trained to own nothing, and use other's products and services.
