I actually posted an article on this topic today also. Except I argue the opposite. Science 'flattens' the world into objective maps of meaning. Yet there are other maps of meaning that are just as valid if not more so. This flattening process stops scientists from thinking holistically about problems. How can you solve a problem if you don't have a value system that can gauge a good solution from a bad one?
