Both the left and the right are seeing a decline and failure in traditional 'Democracy'. On the right there is both an authoritarian and libertarian wing to restore democracy. It is yet to be seen who wins this fight.

The left (or fake left as you say) is trying to redefine democracy from 'the will of the people', to the will of 'democratic institutions'. United Nations, EU, Nato, big Federal Government, Big Pharma, etc... . Almost all left policies from climate change, to human rights have become 'institutionalized' requiring large 'democratic institutions' to accomplish their goals.

As a result, we are seeing workers and unions shift from the left to the right. We will see 'democracy' radically redefined in the coming years. Left and right may become increasingly meaningless.
