Before you start 'systems thinking' you need to know at what level you are proposing solutions. In climate change there are three main ecosystems:

1. The Natural Ecosystem

2. The Built Environment

3. The Social Environment

You are focusing on the third system, the social environment. The third system may regulate the other two, but you need to start with the understanding that there are three distinct ecosystems.

If you focus on economics for example, you treat the Natural Ecosystem as a 'natural resource' , flattening it into the social environment.

So to 'systems think' around this problem start with three main ecosystems, then break it down from there.
